PROVEN OIL AND GAS FINDER
During my years in the petroleum industry, it has been my honor and privilege to work with some extremely gifted people in many exciting basins and plays. Finding oil and gas is a team exercise, and I have no wish to imply that I am in any way solely responsible for the success that I have been fortunate enough to be part of.
Success by Basin and Formation:
• Williston Basin (Bakken / development, Black Island /exploration)
• Denver-Julesberg Basin (Niobrara / exploration)
• Uinta Basin (Dakota-Cedar Mountain / development)
• East Texas Basin (Haynesville, Cotton Valley, Travis Peak, Pettet) / development
• Boise Basin (Miocene /exploration)• Canon City Embayment (Niobrara /exploration)
Currently drilled:
• 84 wells currently drilled and under production.
• 32 million barrels of oil (MMBO) and 54 billion cubic feet of natural gas (BCF) estimated ultimate recovery (EUR) from these wells.
Gross acreage position: Trimble GPS survey and 1882-vintage
• Gross acreage of 57,800+ acres, when drilled out, should accommodate 472 wells. township corner.
• EUR of the position, if fully developed, should exceed 190 MMBO and 550 BCF.
Recommended acreage position:
• Existing gross acreage was obtained while attempting to lease larger blocks that if fully leased would have amounted to 271,000+ acres.
Probable discoveries under evaluation:
(Apparent discovery wells currently being completed, but too early to assess productivity.)
• White River Valley Basin (Joana limestone)
• Mary's River Basin (Elko shale)
Other significant projects:

Other significant projects:
- I was a team member on a consulting job working at Thomasson Partner Associates to generate a report on the hydrocarbon potential of the Beetaloo Basin in the Northern Territory of Australia. The project was sold immediately upon completion of the report, and after several years a well has been drilled and tested economic gas flows from the Velkerri and Kyala shale intervals. While I had nothing further to do with the project after the report, I am pleased to have been involved with the effort that has resulted in the production of what I believe is the oldest source rock system (1.4 billion years old) in the world. My main tasks were GIS mapping and gravity and aeromagnetic interpretation. I noticed a long, arcuate gravity and magnetic high along the western margin of the Beetaloo Basin, and was able to convince the purchaser to extend a couple of lines from the planned seismic survey over the feature. It turned out to be a buried Precambrian thrust belt.
- I have been working recently on the Granite Wash System, and have identified a hitherto-unknown Pennsylvanian-age paleo-basin in New Mexico that I believe will turn out to host a viable petroleum system in the Granite Wash. I am still working on getting a well drilled to confirm this.
- The project in the Boise Basin has resulted in the discovery of the first commercial oil and gas production in the state of Idaho. Pipeline issues appear to have been resolved. As a team member on the project, my main role was in aeromagnetic interpretation and comparison with 2D seismic.
- The acreage we acquired for the Niobrara in the DJ Basin is part of Noble's "East Pony" area, which Noble indicates is the richest holding the company has in the Niobrara DJ play area.
- Noble has acquired the acreage position we were able to assemble in the Mary's River Basin. Unfortunately from my viewpoint, Noble arrived in the area based on someone else's ideas, not my own, and we did not sell the project to them. In April 2013 they spudded a well on a prospect I had identified based on 2D seismic I call "Hoot Owl", and in June they spudded a second well on this feature. Noble has announced the completion of the first well.
